The meal will be catered by Kinder’s to include a variety of salads, so even vegetarians will have plenty to eat. Hamburgers and hot dogs for the kids too. If you’d like to bring something to share, a simple-to-serve dessert like cookies or brownies would be welcome.
The park has two play structures for younger and older children, including one custom-made to fit the hillside with a tree house, tunnel and rock climbing wall.

Parking - Free:
We encourage you to carpool. Limited parking is available at the park and on the streets (be mindful of any posted neighborhood parking permit restrictions). Parking is also available at the International Laborer’s Hall, Berrellesa and Escobar St. where our shuttle picks up. From the Laborer’s Hall you can walk 5 blocks to Rankin Park at the Buckely St entrance or take our shuttle. The BBQ is in the “Olive Grove” area of the park.
Contra Coast Connection bus route 316 runs from the Pleasant Hill Bart Station to Martinez.
Arrive in Martinez approximately 12:03 pm. Disembark bus on Berrellesa St between Marina Vista / Escobar St. Check Contra Costa Connection schedule to confirm times locations: https://countyconnection.com/routes/316/
Walk west several blocks to Rankin Park, Buckley St. entrance to the “Olive Grove” area. Or walk one block to our Shuttle at the Laborers International Union Hall lot at Berrellesa and Escobar Sts. Depart Martinez. Approx. 4:10-15, from Alhambra Ave. Check Contra Costa Connection Schedule.
However you get there, you must enter the park on Buckley street – the other streets around don’t provide access to the park.
