    The next congressional election in the US in April 18, 2017. It is an open seat vacated by Tom Price the man who will attempt to destroy the Public Health System in the United States. There is a strong—grassroots—campaign under way to elect Jon Ossoff. Jon has the backing of Civil Rights Icon John Lewis. Here is the web site where you can find out more about how to help this important campaign. https://electjon.com/

    Hello, I am currently involved in some resistance groups in Walnut Creek. We were wondering if you already had a representative that will be running against Jeff Belle for the Contra Costa County School Board Trustee. We were talking to potentially recruits and thought we should check with you first to see if you need help.

    I entirely agree with Lisa Songster and than her for the Glenn Greenwald article. I want to work toward a solution not a repetition and I fear that the DNC will not work with me for that.

    I have been a Democrat for 41 years. I left the party after the CA primary and only recently rejoined to vote at the Assembly Dist. rep meeting. I am completely disgusted with the inability to admit that the party needs to change directions. Please read this article and know that it speaks for me, my husband and countless other disillusioned Democrats: https://theintercept.com/2017/02/09/tom-perez-apologizes-for-telling-the-truth-showing-why-democrats-flaws-urgently-need-attention/

    Sorry, I had a further question. Do you have organizing trainings?
  • commented 2017-01-26 20:35:51 -0800
    Yes, I live in Richmond. Just joined tonight. Need some guidance on what meeting you suggest I go to first and how do I find a committee to join? Thanks for your time and attention. Sincerely, Eddie.

    Nancy Pelosi has called for a “day of action” on January 15 to support Obamacare. I can’t find any info about that here or elsewhere. Might that be something you’d want to publicize or help organize?

    Pleeeez guys, S.O.S——the Electoral C. results have completely shattered me. I have not participated very much through the years with you great folks, but my heart and soul have always been with the Dems. —and at 66 yrs, that is a long time!

    What I have to offer you is that I have been working on making my own news show, since almost the beginning of the Obama administration—supporting him and the Dems all these yrs. The huge stumbling block now is I don;t have anyone to help me with the technology. At 65 that the tech challenge is often more than I can handle…..I am an Apple person,, I-movie. I need someone who can help me. My computer was stolen last spring, and much of my material was lost due to a faulty back up disk. But there is still a lot to work with—I orin=giny make it on!-movie ’09. When that was stolen and I had to buy a new comp., I had to upgrade to the newer program which is much trickier and so slow for me to edit.

    I have quit out of frustration many times. But this horrible Trump win will not allow me to give up. I have my children, and the inner city children I have taught for many years in ‘West Contra Costa County, whose lives are my responsibility. I won’t stop doing whatever I can to save them from the kinds of lives they will have under Trump and company.

    Please call me at 510 295-7146 anytime…….Diane Hall.

    Hi,

    I’m a Hillary volunteer in Orinda. Will there be any election night events at restaurants or at headquarters in Walnut Creek or Lamorinda? Hopefully there are places to share the election returns with other supporters?

    I have an issue with the Contra Costa County website (cocovote.us). If you go to the frequently asked questions section and click on questions about my vote by mail ballot, you get a nonworking phone number and an emIl adress that doesn’t respond to inquiries. After spending weeks trying to call this number and send email inquiries with no response about missing mail in ballots, it’s now too late to get a mail in ballot. Is this voter suppression?

    SUGGESTION: Post a notice on the wonderful community website NEXTDOOR offering a ride to the polls for anyone who needs it. I’m unable to offer rides but am certain there will be many in the group eager to help.

    I live in Hercules/Richmond, where are the lawn signs and window cards to be picked up or dropped off?
  • commented 2016-10-22 21:48:03 -0700
    I noticed there is nothing on the ballot that let’s people know to use a dark pen or #2 pencil….absolutely not red or green? I checked on the internet to make sure but I am concerned some votes won’t be counted because of this …..

    Last night at about 9:30, one of your canvassers came into my backyard, opened my back door, and entered my home unannounced and uninvited. Naturally, this scared the heck out of my family. I hustled him out of my house and called the police.

    He seemed to be either intoxicated or mentally ill. While waiting for the police to arrive, I asked why he entered my home. He told me that he was reporting for his “job”, which was a canvasser for the Democratic Party. (When the police arrived they found paperwork which verified this claim.)

    He told me his name was Jacob. However, he seemed confused, so I’m not sure if this was his actual name. He was in his early 20’s, had longish hair, and wore a blue pea coat and khakis. He had a Texas driver’s license.

    The police took custody of him and I’m not sure of his status.

    I don’t know how you screen your paid canvassers. However, this person should not be visiting your constituent’s homes while representing your party. Please do not send any party canvassers to my home in the future.

    In recent years the use of candidate

    names in the titles of projects or other unauthorized communications has increasingly become a

    device for unauthorized committees to raise funds or disseminate information.” Id.

    Given that experience, the Commission “decided to adopt in its final rule a ban on the use

    of candidate names in the titles of all communications by unauthorized committees

    So does Unauthorized define Democratic Party Of Contra Costa County, saying it’s campaigning for Hillary Clinton or Bernie Sanders??? Or even Susan Bonilla…

    How do I terminate my committee?

    To terminate a political committee, the treasurer must file a termination report, using the FEC Form 3, 3P or 3X, as appropriate. The treasurer should check the “Termination Report” box on the first page of the form, and report all previously undisclosed activity. The committee must continue to file regular reports until the Commission notifies it in writing that the termination report has been accepted. Please note that a committee is eligible to terminate only if it no longer intends to raise and spend funds, and has no outstanding debts. Committees involved in an ongoing enforcement action or audit cannot terminate

    •Spend public funds only for campaign-related expenses or, in the case of a party convention, for convention-related expenses;

    •Limit spending to amounts specified by the campaign finance law;

    •Keep records and, if requested, supply evidence of qualified expenses;

    •Cooperate with an audit of campaign or convention expenses;

    •Repay public funds, if necessary; and

    •Pay any civil penalties imposed by the FEC.
    I’m doing some research about this Office and I did tell the FBI about the red flags that I’m seeing with this office.

    I am trying to find out the location of any local Democratic headquarters in Walnut Creek, Concord, Lafayette, or??? There used to be one in Walnut Creek a few elections back… where are you, so I can visit in person? I’d like a T-shirt, but need to see what the sizes actually look like before I buy.

    Also, are you planning on setting up a table at Sunvalley Mall to register Democrats? I would help man that table if needed.

    I am a disabled RN who uses a cane but can drive, and owns a Hyundai Sonata. I live in Antioch, and think I can best help the Party by driving folks to and from the polls on Election day. I am agreeable to providing a copy of my resume, my husband is the Chief Medical Examiner Alameda County. Please contact me if I sound appropriate to be a candidate to help in this fashion?

    My grandmother lives in Rossmoor and was hoping to volunteer for the upcoming election. She asked me to reach out and see if the democratic party of Contra Costa County had an office close to there so she didn’t have to drive too far. Thanks for any guidance you can give.

    Hello,

    I’m the Show Manager for the East Bay Home Show coming up at the Craneway Pavilian Sept 17 & 18th. We average 10,000 attendee’s at it would be a great place to share the Democratic Message if you had a booth in the show.
